Internship in Grundfos Materials Laboratory at Grundfos

Would you like to be part of Grundfos´ ambition to pioneer sustainable solutions to the world’s water and climate challenges and improve the quality of life for people.

Are you looking for an internship in Spring 2023? Would you like to turn your theoretical toolbox into practical experience, working with material testing together with dedicated experts?

This is your chance to work with some of the sharpest minds in the field, as you do an internship within electrochemistry. You will become part of our Materials Laboratory, where we are 12 colleagues responsible for supporting the R&D organization and production sites with material tests for the characterization of metal and polymer materials. As part of our team, we guarantee interesting challenges, and we look forward to sharing our knowledge with you – and to hear your ideas.

What is the job about? In the Grundfos Materials Lab, we conduct electrochemical testing to evaluate the corrosion resistance of metals used in our commercial pumps. You will help with development and validation of new electrochemical testing methods as well as being part of several ongoing projects in the Materials lab. Additionally, you will be involved in the development of mechanical tests of composites based on creep testing.

More specifically, you will be involved with the following tasks:

  • Accelerated corrosion testing of 3D printed metals
  • Impedance Spectroscopy for evaluating CED coatings
  • Testing of new steel materials
  • Temperature dependence of corrosion
  • Mechanical creep testing
  • Data analysis and processing

We expect the internship to start 9 January and end 2 June 2023. You will be working 37 hours per week in our Materials Laboratory in Bjerringbro, but we are flexible to schedule your working hours around exams and schoolwork. It is possible to work from home on agreed days.

What do you need to apply?

  • You are studying at bachelor or master level within mechanics, chemistry or materials science and possess knowledge within analytical applications.
  • You come with a strong quality mindset and have a self-driven approach to new challenges, still knowing when to seek sparring to get to your goal in an effective way.
  • You show initiative and work proactively and independently on new assignments, as this will help you make the most of your time with us.

Why Grundfos? We believe that everyone in Grundfos has passion and potential – as well as the power to influence. At Grundfos, we dare to do things that others cannot or dare not do. Our skills commit us to pioneer solutions to the world’s water and climate challenges and to improve the quality of life for people. By joining us in your internship, you too can drive this change while improving both your skills and resume. You become part of one big powerful team in an inspiring and learning environment - an opportunity you do not want to miss.
