Work Hours per week: up to 25
Hourly Rate of Pay: $10.50
What our office does: The Media Technologies Department - Videography Lab provides students and instructors with video equipment for use in creating short films. Instructors use equipment on campus to educate students on proper safety and techniques of filmmaking.

Position Description

Successful candidate(s) will:
  • Help to prepare equipment packages that will be checked out by students.
  • Inspect equipment for any damages and/or missing parts upon return from students.
  • Assist in teaching safe use of video equipment so as to avoid costly damages.
  • Prepare equipment for students and/or instructors to use in video studio

Work Experience in our Department supports the following Degree/Certificate Programs:
  • AAS in Commercial Photography with Videography & Film emphasis

Required Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in or have completed VID 110.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must have working knowledge of Video Cameras, Lighting and Grip equipment, microphones, and sound mixers.

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with students and instructors on a daily basis.

To maintain eligibility, students must:

  • Show a financial aid eligible major (degree or certificate program) declared with the CSN Office of the Registrar, and
  • Meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Progress after each semester/term to qualify for employment within the academic year, and
  • Show degree compliant enrollment for each semester/term for which funding is desired.
  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credits and meet additional eligibility requirements of the Silver State Regents Service Program for summer semester/term employment.
