We are looking for an AI Engine Compiler Intern to help us build the next-generation of compilers targeting AMD Xilinx AI Engines, for a duration of 6 months at our Cologne office starting as soon as possible. In this role, you will get a chance to work on all aspects of a compiler toolchain, from source language extensions in clang to middle end optimizations and backend code generation in LLVM, all while solving the unique challenges of the AI Engine core architecture.
You will contribute, develop and enhance a clang/LLVM based compiler toolchain targeting a unique VLIW architecture
You will be responsible for continuous development, debugging and testing of the code you produce
You’re studying towards a Master or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field
You have knowledge of compiler design
You have strong C++ programming skills
You have knowledge about compiler construction and possess knowledge about the LLVM compiler infrastructure
Ideally, you have some experience with LLVM compiler backend development
You have strong communication and problem-solving skills, have a hands-on mentality and are able to work in a team
You are an EU citizen or possess a valid work permit. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
